Sony Xperia 1 III Series Revealed

Sony Xperia 1 III Series Revealed

Sony has now announced its next entry into the Sony Xperia series, with the Sony Xperia Mark 3 collection. With three new devices set to become available in the early summer. No exact date or price has yet been revealed, but the devices displayed do look very promising.

Sony will introduce the Sony Xperia 1 III as the main device, the Sony Xperia 5 III as the compact model and the Sony Xperia 10 III as the mid-range device. Offering three different options, that all have some of the same features. We will be taking a look at the Xperia One 3, as this was the device revealed with Sony’s reveal event, and all the key information you may want.

The Powerful Camera:

One of the main features that Sony have really worked on is the camera. Wanting to give customers a great level of creativity and professionalism. And to do so, the Xperia 1 III was made with help from the developed of the Sony Alpha 9 camera series. Using many pieces of technology that you would usually find with these cameras, including fast auto focus and real-time subject tracking.

The camera is made up of four different camera lenses, all of which include fast and accurate auto focus. With Dual DPAF sensors used, allowing for continuous auto focus. The four different lenses are: a 16mm and 12MP lens, a 24mm and 12MP lens, a 3D iToF lens and a final 70mm and 105mm and 12MP lens.

The 12 MP sensors allow for a super-fast reading speed, being around 3x faster compared to other smartphones that have a higher MP count.

With the camera, you get a long range super-fast focus with the telephoto lens. Capable of focal lengths between 70mm and 105mm, while also being able to capture moving targets from a long range. With all of the cameras, there is a powerful digital zoom. Allowing for great image quality. Using AI super resolution zoom to give images the best quality possible.

These are all enhanced by the Zeiss T* optics. That allow for far greater rendering and contrast by reducing the reflections in the camera.

I mentioned capturing moving targets in the telephoto lens, but this capturing is available across all the cameras with real time tracking. Real time tracking allows for very fast and precise focus on subjects that are moving quickly. This allows for extremely accurately detection and focus on any subject within a photo, and it continues to track the subject even when it moves slightly out of sight. This is used with AI and 3D iToF to measure the distance, allowing for flawless real time tracking.

Real time eye auto focus is also a great real time camera feature that allows for flawless image capture. It can be used for both people and animals, and works whether they are moving.

You can get great quality images, no matter what lighting you are in. This is all thanks to the 1/1.7 Exmor RS image sensor. Making images far clearer. The BIONZ X mobile engine also plays a part in this, allow the Xperia 1 III to take the finest photos with less noise and far greater light sensitivity.

Quickfire burst shooting, now working at 20 frames per second, and continuous AF/AE calculation have been combined to get the perfect burst photos. Auto focus and auto exposure help to capture many images in an instant, working at 60fps continuously. And to allow easy use for this, there is a dedicated shutter button on the phone.

Photography Pro:

Take your photo taking to the next level with the Photography Pro mode. Giving you control over options and features that you would normally find on professional cameras. To make it feel professional, the interface of the pro mode is based on the Alpha series cameras. Giving you the option of manual, automatic and basic modes. Manual mode allows you to change the camera settings to what you prefer (change white balance, ISO and more). Basic mode makes it far easier to use a number of different photo features, while also giving you access to Bokeh effects.

RAW image format can also be used within the Sony Xperia 1 III’s pro camera mode. Giving you all the original image data from a photo, letting you have full control over editing and processing images.

Video Recording:

And for those who like recording videos, the Sony Xperia 1 III offers some great functionality for this. With extremely smooth and high quality, you will find that your videos will be incredibly stable. This is thanks to the Optical SteadyShot along with FlawlessEye within the device. Combined with Sony’s original algorithm and high reading speed, recording videos will be incredible.

To make it even easier, you can use the Xperia 1 III to controller your Sony Alpha camera. It can be used either as a display for your camera, or as a remote control for changing settings and taking images.

The Display:

Now away from the camera. The Sony Xperia 1 III has a 4K HDR OLED 120Hz refresh rate display. Allowing you to enjoy an extremely smooth experience whenever you are scrolling and browsing the internet, or navigating your phone. With a 21:9 CinemaWide display, you will get a very wide, and wonderful viewing experience. To make sure your images and videos are the best they can be, the Xperia 1 III also has 240Hz motion blur reduction, with images that update 240 times per second.

And if you find something you want changing with the display, you can easily customise numerous display settings (like white balance) to allow for the perfect visual experience for you. Creator mode also plays a great part into this, with a calibrated D65 white point that allows for brilliant colours that you can find within professional Sony colour monitors. Creator mode can also be pre-set as a default for entertainment and visual services.

Within the display you can also find 10-bit colours, being far deeper and greater in quality compared to previous Xperia models. Professional-grade display features and specifications, like the high contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. BRAVIA HDR remaster technology has also been added to everything you watch on the Xperia 1 III. Giving far greater colour, contrast and clarity.

For Mobile Gamers:

You will find some of these features will be very good for mobile gaming. And they are. The Xperia 1 III is also built-in mind for all gamers out there. Containing a Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming for the finest gaming experience on the go.

Built with many powerful features. Like a low gamma raiser to make it easier to see things in darker areas on the phone, this is done by enhancing the detail of images within dark locations on your screen. Fast touch response, thanks to the high refresh rate, detects your touch instantly when you touch the screen. Audio equaliser that allows you to increase sounds like gunfire and footsteps within games. An optimised V.C. microphone that reduces your background noises.

Overheating prevention is another key part to the device, with the heat suppression power control allowing the phone system to charge directly, rather than the battery. And to prove you got the win you were looking for, the Xperia 1 III is capable of taking around 600 screenshots in 30 seconds.

If you do not like controlling your game through your hands, you can connect your PS4 DualShock controller to the Xperia 1 III. Allowing for an easy and high-tier gameplay experience.

Powerful Audio:

Every phone needs good audio, and the Sony Xperia 1 III is built upon wonderful audio. Made with a 3.5mm jack for the best sound quality. Being very convenient, with great sound quality and reduced distortion, you will get realistic sound.

But the 360 audio looks to be some of the best audio features within the Xperia 1 III. With both 360-reality audio and 360 spatial audio being included with the device. Allowing for an immersive audio experience, making it feel like your favourite music is surrounding you. Wired, wireless and the built-in speakers allow for 360 audio. This is done with the help of Dolby Atmos, a multi-dimensional sound system that surrounds you. Sound fully tuned into the Xperia 1 III, working with many Sony headphones.

On the topic of built-in speakers. The built-in speakers are like full stage stereo speakers, built into the front of the phone. Which makes for a stunning music and sound experience. And to ensure the built-in speakers work stunningly, the speaker box structure is designed to reduce the sound vibration, while also improving the sound pressure.

Extra Features:

Performance with the Sony Xperia 1 III looks to be at the top level. Containing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G mobile platform, allowing for super-fast speeds. Of course, this does mean that the Xperia Mark 3 series will allow you to use 5G connection. Next-gen connectivity that greatly reduces lag.

There are some extra features that look to be very strong. With a 4500mAh battery, that allows for a healthy battery for around 3 years of using the phone. Along with capability to get 50% charge in around 30 minutes. You can charge the Sony Xperia Mark 3 wirelessly, or with a charger,

You will also find that the Sony Xperia 1 is very water and dust resistant.

On release, the Sony Xperia 1 III will be available in Frosted Black, Frosted Grey and Frosted Purple. The Sony Xperia 5 III and Sony Xperia 10 III will also arrive at the same time, and is sure to have very similar features.
